We collect the following information from you when you register for participation in the trial.

We do not collect any personal information from you. In particular, we have disabled cookies for analytics tracking, have anonymised IP addresses of visitors, and made sure that our page URLs and information from referrers we receive do not include personal data. We do not use any custom variables and do not do any session recording or e-commerce tracking.

The data and contact information you enter are stored in an encrypted form on the servers of FHNW. FHNW uses Switch as the provider of computing resources for running the FHNW servers. FHNW has implemented the required technical and organisational security measures to ensure the security of users’ personal data and prevent their alteration, loss, unauthorised processing or access according to state of the art, the nature of the data stored and the risks to which they are exposed, whether due to human action or physical or natural media, according to the provisions in the regulations in force.

We will not use your personal data for purposes other than those stated in this privacy policy or for the purpose specifically indicated when we collect it. The collected data will solely and exclusively be used by GEIGER.

There may be forms on our website that collect users’ data for specific purposes. In these cases, this will be subject to specific terms and conditions in each case.

The GEIGER consortium members will use the collected data to answer user queries, offer feedback and assistance as part of the helpdesk service, and improve the GEIGER service.

The GEIGER consortium member TECH.EU will use the collecgted data to keep subscribers up to date on the news and services provided by GEIGER if the user grants their express authorisation for this latter purpose.

Legal Basis for Data Collection and Processing

We use the term “General Data Protection Regulation” or the term “GDPR” to refer specifically to the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC. The legal basis for this processing is your consent under Art. 6(1) Sentence 1(a) GDPR.

Rights

Users may exercise their right of access to their personal data and request rectification of any incorrect data or, if need be, request the deletion when the data are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were obtained. They may also request restriction, portability and objection to their data being processed under certain circumstances and for reasons related to their particular situation. They are also entitled to withdraw their consent at any time without this retroactively affecting the personal data processing carried out up to such time. Users may exercise their aforementioned rights according to the terms and conditions in the law in force at the registered office of FHNW or by submitting a request by e-mail to the contact or DPO declared above. If they do not obtain a satisfactory reply and wish to file a claim or obtain further information about any of these rights, they may contact the DPO of the Canton of Aargau.

Before sending any request for information through the data collection or contact forms on this website, the user must accept the privacy policy thereof, providing express and informed consent to process the data for the indicated purposes.

Is it mandatory to provide all the information requested in the forms on the website?

Regarding the forms on the website, users are requested to complete the spaces marked “compulsory.” If they do not complete the required personal data or only partially provide them, this could mean that GEIGER is unable to deal with their requests and, therefore, GEIGER will be exonerated from all liability for not rendering or not fully rendering the requested services. The personal data that users provide to GEIGER must be current data so that the information in the records is up-to-date and error-free. Users will be held liable for the correctness and accuracy of the provided data.

Under what conditions do we collect data?

By ticking the box on the relevant webpage and submitting your personal data to us, you will be treated as having given your permission to process your personal data as set out in this privacy policy. Personal data will not be disclosed to other third parties unless there is a legal obligation to do so. If there is any intention to disclose them, the authorisation of the data subjects will be obtained beforehand.

How long will we keep your personal data?

The personal data will be kept while the purpose lasts for which they were provided. You may request their deletion or cancellation. In every case, your personal data will be deleted automatically after four weeks at the latest. Please approach the contact provided at the beginning of the privacy policy if you need assistance.

Do we use cookies to obtain information?

Our website does not use any cookies to collect or store any personal information.

 We use performance and analytics cookies provided by the analytics platform Matomo installed on the premises of FHNW. These cookies collect information about how visitors use a website, for instance, which pages visitors go to most often and get error messages from web pages. These cookies do not collect information that identifies you. All the information that these cookies collect is anonymous and is only used to improve our website.
